25 Novembre 2012 la marque japonaise de voiture premium, Infiniti, est annoncé comme sponsor principal de Red Bull Racing. Pourtant, son investissement était limité par rapport au statut entrevue dans les autres équipes. Pour cause, selon nos informations, le deal impose à la marque japonaise de trouver un sponsor secondaire à partir de 2014.
Sauf que de sponsor secondaire (entre 10 et 15 millions d’euros l’année durant trois ans) il n’en a pas sur les RB10. Ce qui signifie qu’Infiniti devra payer la différence, en attendant l’arrivée d’un autre sponsor.
